CIPR PRide Awards 2010 Nomination

RR Donnelley have been nominated in the Best Publication Category at this years CIPR PRide Awards for the GLSS Scotland brochure. The award ceremony will be held at Prestonfield House in Edinburgh on the 4th of November. The RR Donnelley design team are delighted to receive the nomination, especially for a project that we believed so much in and enjoyed working on. The brochure contains commissioned photography by Glasgow based photographer Stephen Kearney which was art directed by the RR Donnelley design team.

Grand designs

RR Donnelley has completed the rebranding for Loft Living, the luxury furniture brand in Selfridges. The design studio has created an elegant new brand which includes stationery, website and a new signage solution for the Selfridges store to increase visibility and location of the Loft Living range. The colour palette selected derives from Le Corbusier's Polychromie Architecturale, a selection of wallpaper colours he created in 1931. Loft Living has since decided to adopt these colours and sell them in a range of wall paints to compliment their furniture collections! Elle magazine and double-page spreads in Grand Designs are scheduled for August to coincide with the brand relaunch. See the website at www.loft-living.co.uk

Another Year, another IDMA award

Continuing on from our past successes at the Irish An Post Direct Mail awards in 2008, 2009 and now 2010, the RR Donnelley O2 design team scooped yet another award Securing a bronze award at Dublin's Mansion House for Best IT & Technology was another strong performance from the team, illustrating the strength of partnership between O2 and our own in-house designers. RR Donnelley shone at the awards in more ways than one this year. Acting as the key sponsors of the event, Dave Furney, General Manager of RR Donnelley Ireland, presented the awards in the final category of the evening, including Agency of the Year Award.

Scottish Design Awards Success

Recently we received a commendation for our own rrdcreative.com microsite in the Best Use of Visual Design at the Scottish Design Awards, hosted by The Drum. We are extremely proud to receive the commendation as the awards are judged by a highly respected panel that are recognised across the creative industry. The website was created in collaboration with Edinburgh based Civic.

Good things come to those who design

The RR Donnelley team in Ireland was invited to take part in a launch party to promote The Dubliner magazine becoming a free supplement within The Evening Herald. The party was held in The Gravity Bar of The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin's city centre on 8th April. The team created the concept design, managed the print aspect and developed point of sale material for the launch event. The marketing campaign slogan 'some things are made for each other' portrayed the theme. Dave Furney, General Manager of Ireland picks up the story, "The campaign was a huge success and we had a window of approximately 50 minutes from when the Guinness Storehouse closed to when the launch party began to set up. This left minimal time for delays and required expert project management to ensure the job was executed on time and to the standard demanded. A very big well done to everyone."

Bridging the Gap

To mark the launch of The Times and Sunday Times online subscription initiative - the first ever online subscription for a newspaper - News International required their 'Link Bridge' area to be updated and revamped. RR Donnelley's Client Services Manager Tracy Davis explains, "The link bridge connects two News International buildings, both heavily used by employees, visitors and the media. The bridge walls required an injection of colour and inspiration to maximise the imagery, promotions and media campaign information which are displayed." News International were delighted with the outcome and were very complimentary of our service, particularly with our technical advice on artwork and production which were all delivered to extremely high quality standards, as commented by Marketing and News International Creative Team.
