Great design doesn’t have to cost fortunes. In fact, it can sometimes cost buttons… literally.
That’s what the judges thought at the annual Scottish Design Awards, where RRDCreative were proud double winners.
The prize-winning design – a budget-busting Christmas card – was named Best Item of Self Promotion and also picked up the prestigious Chairman’s Award.
RRDCreative used actual buttons to create little snowmen on the front of each hand-made card, bought rubber stamps to save on printing, and mailed the cards second class in early-December to save postage.
It was an approach that impressed a judging panel comprising Adrian Whatman (RAPP), Hiten Bhatt (OgilvyOne), Sophie Lutman (BrandPie), Erika Clegg (Spring), Chris Jeffrey (Love) and Martin Muir (Start Judge Gill).
“To be cost-effective is one thing, but to be recognised for design excellence by industry leaders is a massive tribute to the ongoing creativity and imagination of our team in Edinburgh,”
RRDCreative’s Creative Director, Corey Stewart.
The Scottish Design Awards, now in their 19th year, reward top design agencies and architect firms for their contribution to the country’s historic and contemporary design culture.
