With the Gin category becoming increasingly saturated the importance of having a point of difference is paramount. During the initial phases of the project we immersed ourselves in the distillery, its locale and the distillation process to seek out a hidden product truth that could differentiate us. We wanted to champion Eskers provenance in Royal Deeside, but in a contemporary and differentiated way avoiding the expected heraldry associated with the area.
An Esker is a long winding ridge of gravel that is formed from melting glaciers, these can be found throughout Royal Deeside. We centred the creation of the brand around this little known geographical fact to create an ownable point of difference.
